2022 NEMSM Call for Board Members

The National EMS Museum (NEMSM) is excited to announce an open call for candidates to the 2023 Board of Directors.

The National Emergency Medical Services Museum is a 501c3 organization striving to inspire a future generation of emergency care providers, innovators, and leaders by collecting and sharing the stories and artifacts from our collective past, highlighting the importance of EMS services to the community, and inspiring  future EMS clinicians and EMS advocates.

In 2023, the Board of Directors will be responsible for elevating NEMSM activities to support the goal of being the national organization dedicated to the preservation of the EMS experience and to help foster relationships in communities across the country. This is a pivotal time for the organization and an excellent opportunity to see the Museum continue to grow as a nationally recognized organization.

The Museum is currently looking to recruit a limited number of goal oriented and experienced non-profit leaders to serve as board members who have a demonstrated background in philanthropic development, fundraising, strategic implementation, and successful organizational management in EMS or the non-profit sector. The board will work closely with volunteers, museum staff, and interns to implement new strategic initiatives for a term starting in January 2023.

As part of a working board, NEMSM board members are expected to dedicate about 20-30 hours per month working on NEMSM business. This includes attending a couple of monthly conference calls with fellow board members and/or our Museum Director or volunteers, in addition to participating in committee meetings and accomplishing follow-up tasks related to those committee functions.
