1967: AMBULANCE: M-725 MILITARY

The military ambulance built by Kaiser Jeep came off the production line in July, 1967. Built on the Jeep “Gladiator” pick-up chassis, it had a six-cylinder, two hundred thirty cubic inch, overhead cam engine, that generated one hundred thirty-two horsepower.  These vehicles, unfortunately, proved to be too unreliable for wartime use, and production was stopped after seven years. At fourteen tons, it was capable of carrying between five and eight patients at a time. The ambulance in this photo now resides at the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles, in Lexington, NE.
