1972: OLDSMOBILE 48″ COTNER-BEVINGTON AMBULANCE
This is a 1972 Oldsmobile 48 inch high headroom Ambulance built by Cotner-Bevington, Division of the Wayne Corporation in Blytheville, Arkansas. This ambulance was purchased new for the Dallas County Ambulance Service in Perry, Iowa. The ambulance was purchased through Foster Coach Sales in Sterling, Illinois, which is an ambulance and funeral coach distributor. It is believed that there were actually two identical ambulances ordered at the same time for Dallas County Ambulance. The ambulance in this photo is posed at the entrance of what is thought to be the old Jane Lamb Hospital, which is now known as the MERCY Hospital, in Clinton, Iowa.
