1960s: EKG MONITOR: SURTECH TELEMETRY MINI-MONITOR
In the late 1960s, the SurTech Telemetry Mini-Monitor was developed to provide an audible tone beep for heartbeats. The device was a small battery-powered unit that was also capable of encoding and transmitting the patient’s EKG signal to the SurTech Telemetry Decoder via standard telephone to a physician’s office or hospital.
