1970s: RESUSCITATION: E & J RESUSCITATOR LYTPORT III

E & J Resuscitator Lytport III. 1960’s-1970’s.

Manufactured in the 1960s to 1970s by E & J, the Resuscitator Lytport III was a resuscitator, inhalator, and aspirator. The Lytport III had two oxygen bottles and an oxygen powered aspirator. Unfortunately, the Lytport III was not effective when used with CPR due to the automatic cycling of pressure rates. In the the late 1960s, the “Elder” demand valve was introduced as a positive pressure resuscitation head and installed on many of these resuscitators to aid in CPR delivery.
