About the Ladder Splint
Ladder splints were used to stabilize suspected fractures in arms and legs. Typically they were wrapped with gauze for padding and then removed for x-rays and assessment.
Ladder splints fell out of favor in the early 1990s when the SamSplint® became widely available.
